The London Ensemble - Cello Groups

The London Ensemble Cellos perform as a duo, trio, quartet, sextet, octet and 12 cellists.

Headed by Alasdair Strange, the London Ensemble's Director, the cello ensemble is an

excellent alternative for those who require something refreshingly alternative.

London Ensemble musicians have performed at major international festivals including the

Salzburg and Vienna Festivals in Austria, the Kultur Kreis, Baden-Baden, Mecklenburg and

Beethoven Festivals in Germany, the Melle Festival in France as well as the Edinburgh,

Cheltenham, Southwark, Bath, Harrogate, Ligeti, Dulwich and Chichester Festivals in the UK.

Other LE highlights include a gala performance alongside José Carreras and Dame Kiri te

Kanawa at Hampton Court Palace as well as appearances at Barbican Hall, Fairfield Halls,

Wigmore Hall, Snape Maltings Aldeburgh, St. Martin-in-the-Fields, the Purcell Room and

Queen Elizabeth Hall on London's South Bank as well as at many prestigious concert clubs.

Recordings include broadcasts for BBC Radio 3 and Classic FM as well as for such labels as

Sony Classical, Naxos, Warner Chappell and Universal Music. Future plans include a new

series of recordings for Worldwide Artists under the name 'Chamber Music Classics' as well

as performances in Norway, Serbia and the United Kingdom.
